Below is a diagram of a waste treatment process that
shows various stages of either sewer, industrial waste or both.
For smaller volumes and less adverse influent - packaged units perform
much the same functions.
Many chemical products are used to enhance the mechanical components depicted
here. They range from coagulants, flocculants, charge neutralizers, anti
foams, dewatering polymers for sludge etc...
